The Challenge: We will program a short jump rope piece three days per week (Monday/Wednesday/Friday). You encourage you to complete each of them on the day they are programmed. This can be done before/after class or from home. All skill levels will be accommodated. We hope to see your skills improve!
Challenge Dates: September 1st - September 29th
Scoring: Each day will have a scoring entry or a checkbox to mark the day as complete. On September 30th, there will be a separate score where you note if you completed every piece throughout the month.
Below is what a given week will look like. Each piece takes 3 minutes or less. We encourage you to stick to the given timeline so you don’t overly stress your calves.
Every Monday is test day to see how your skills are improving…
Take 3 minutes to find your best unbroken set (max of 100 reps).
Level 1: single-unders
Level 2: double-unders
Level 3: crossover single-unders
Level 4: crossover double-unders
Note: If you achieve 50+ reps in a given week, consider moving up a level and working on the next skill as you continue this challenge.
Wednesdays will work on jump rope skills under fatigue.
For example:
Accumulate as many jump rope reps at your level as you can in 3 minutes. Every time you miss, stop and perform 5 burpees.
(The “stop and perform” movement will vary throughout the challenge)
Fridays are time-based:
